Drumstick, also known as Moringa (Moringa oleifera), is a fast-growing, drought-resistant tree highly valued for its nutritious leaves, pods (the “drumsticks”), and seeds. It thrives in tropical and subtropical climates, making it a valuable crop in many parts of the world.
The ideal temperature for growth and flowering is between 25∘C to 35∘C but it can tolerate higher temperatures and is drought-tolerant once established. It generally does not tolerate frost well.
Soil: It adapts to a wide range of soils but prefers well-drained sandy loam soil with a pH range of 6.0 to 7.0. Poor drainage and waterlogging can lead to root rot.
